THE CULTURAL AND HISTORIC THREAD OF PERU
Andean Wisdom & Indigenous Traditions
Peru is a nation steeped in sacred traditions. The Incan Empire, one of the most advanced civilizations of its time, left behind a legacy of profound spiritual knowledge, intricate architecture, and harmonious living with the natural world. Today, that wisdom is carried forward through the Quechua and Aymara peoples, whose connection to Pachamama (Mother Earth) continues to shape the culture.
Ceremonial offerings to Pachamama (Mother Earth) and the Apus (mountain spirits), accompanied by the sound of traditional music, reflect a timeless reverence for life’s cycles. As you immerse yourself in yoga study here, you’ll feel the synergy between yogic philosophy and Andean cosmology — both rooted in unity, balance, and respect for all beings.

Nowadays, reaching the peak of this infamous structure is much more manageable with a train from Ollyanteambo, which takes you to Aguas Calientes (also known as Machu Picchu Pueblo), Machu Picchu’s closest town. From there, you can take a coach up to the site entrance or hike the final part of the Inca Trail, which will take you between 1 – 2 hours.
