My name is Sarah I’m thirty four years old and have been practicing yoga off and on for over ten years. I started practicing yoga with a close friend of mine and from there started on my own by fallowing DVD’s as well as YouTube videos. When I was twenty seven years old I decided to become a massage therapist. I would always incorporate yoga into my daily self care routine due to the amount of aches and pains I would get from actually doing such a physical job. From this routine I soon realized I could be showing my massage clients these same asana poses that were helping me so much in hopes they too could feel some extended relief in their body.
Learning the correct form for so many asana poses was my absolute favorite part to this training. I knew I could take this knowledge back home with me and better educate my clients.
After completing my SYI training I plan on incorporating yoga into my massage practice by offering private yoga lessons that are custom to my clients needs and areas of focus.
When I signed up for my training with SYI for my yoga teacher training in SavuSavu Fiji I wanted to better educate myself on performing multiple asana poses and routines and learn how to correctly teach my clients this as well. I’m happy to say I have learned so much in the asana pose breakdown and routines and honestly feel confident sharing this practice with my existing and future clients.
After taking my YTT through SYI I’m overly inspired to go out in this beautiful world and share the knowledge I have from my training with others because of the amount of knowledge my instructors passed on to me. Knowledge is power and having the correct knowledge is priceless.
I choose SYI over the other schools due to its location. My husband is from Fiji so I spend half my time here and half of my time back in Seattle, WA
Due to always feeling at peace while I’m in Fiji and always being in work mode back home I figured what a better place to learn such a healing art then in the beautiful islands of Fiji. I started researching online and ran across SYI and from there looked into even further and could see this school and training program was extremely passionate about yoga and all aspects of it.
After completing my training with SYI I feel empowered to bring homeostasis back into my clients bodies by combining massage therapy with the correct asana poses, different breathing techniques and lastly ending with a beautiful meditation to bring peace and self awareness back into their body mind and soul.
Im so thankful for this YTT through SYI! Thank you for allowing me to be on the scholarship program and being so patient with me. The time I spent learning and practicing with SYI will always stay close to my heart.
