This certification program has been a life changing journey that I will never forget. Prior to this program I was always drawn to the practice of yoga, however this program helped me to understand what yoga truly is as an integrated mind, body, and spirit practice.

I chose School Yoga Institute because I heard nothing but good things about it and was attracted to the energy I could pick up on simply from researching through it’s media platforms. Considering the climate and state of the world today, I was fortunate enough to be accepted into SYI’s online yoga teacher training program where I was blessed to meet beautiful human’s from all over the world, while I was residing in Illinois.

I will take away yoga as not just a stretching practice but a true art and lifestyle that can transform one’s mind, body, and spirit thus bringing them to a sense of higher calling. My plan is to give back to my community in the same way this program has given to me. I want to be a model to POC communities to show them that yoga is and can be accessible for everyone. I aspire to reach my Dharma and true purpose of serving others through helping them develop a mind body connection to benefit overall healing.

I will empower others with my gift by helping them to see that yoga is for any and every body. We all deserve healing in our mind and bodies, and yoga can be a beautiful road to that healing. I want to connect with others by using my new found gift in person and on different social media platforms to bring yoga to all people who are interested in finding it but do not have the specific resources to do so. I am forever grateful for this experience and many thanks to SYI for offering this yoga scholarship as a way to help me along this journey. Namaste!
