YOGA SCHOLARSHIPS & TUITION ASSISTANCE

At School Yoga Institute, we believe yoga should be accessible to all. Each year, we award $50,000+ in scholarships to support students on their path of healing, growth, and transformation.

Over the past 20 years, we’ve awarded $50,000+ annually in scholarships to help students worldwide access the transformative path of yoga. We believe that yoga is a practice of liberation and should be accessible to all.

At School Yoga Institute, we are deeply committed to holding space for healing, community, and spiritual growth. Guided by compassion, unity, and heart-led service, our goal is to make our Yoga Teacher Trainings available to anyone who feels the call, regardless of financial circumstances.

To support this vision, we offer two pathways for financial assistance:

1. Scholarships for Marginalized Communities

We recognize yoga as a path to social justice and are committed to amplifying the voices of BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, and People of Color), LGBTQIA+, and other historically marginalized communities.

To help create inclusive and empowering healing spaces, we offer larger scholarships for individuals who identify with these communities, which are available for our in-person and online programs.

Eligibility:

  • Identify as part of a marginalized community (e.g., BIPOC, LGBTQIA+, etc.)
  • A clear intention to use yoga to uplift, serve, or support your community

2. General Tuition Assistance

We believe financial limitations should never stand in the way of personal transformation. Our General Tuition Assistance is open to anyone experiencing financial hardship, regardless of background.

Eligibility:

  • Experiencing financial need
  • A desire to integrate yoga into personal healing or service to others

What’s the Exchange and How It Works?

In alignment with our values of community and reciprocity, we invite scholarship recipients to give back by sharing their experiences — whether through writing, photos, videos, art, or other creative contributions. These offerings help inspire others and nurture the SYI global family.

1. Choose Your Scholarship Type

Decide which form of financial support best reflects your situation: Marginalized Communities Scholarship or General Tuition Assistance.

2. Complete the Application

Fill out the application form linked below. You’ll be asked to share more about your path, your financial needs, and how you plan to integrate your training.

3. Application Review & Next Steps

Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis. If selected, you’ll be notified by email and asked to confirm your spot with a deposit within 7 days.

Please Note:

  • Scholarships cannot be combined with promotional discounts
  • Applications take time to complete — please prepare to finish in one sitting
  • You must have completed a 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training to be eligible for our 300-hour programs, as they are advanced trainings. If you have not completed a 200 hour yet, we invite you to start there first
