Empowering Growth Through Transformative Trainings
Anatomy of Yoga is an inclusive, trauma-informed 20-hour foundational training designed to help you understand how the human body moves, why every body moves differently, and how anatomy can completely change the way you teach yoga.
Forget memorizing hundreds of muscles, origins, insertions, and complicated anatomical terms. This training takes anatomy out of the textbook and puts it directly into the yoga practice, giving you the foundational knowledge you actually need to teach safer, more functional, body-aware classes.
We’ll explore the skeletal and muscular systems, major joints, fascia and myofascial lines, the breath, spine, core, shoulders, hips, knees, ankles, and feet, while looking at how these structures work together in movement. You’ll also explore tension versus compression, pain versus discomfort, skeletal variation, and why the same pose can—and should—look different from one body to another.
You’ll learn to move beyond rigid alignment rules and the idea that there is one “right” way to perform a pose. Instead of asking, “How do I get this body into the pose?” you’ll begin asking, “What are we trying to create in this body?”
Through experiential practices, you’ll learn to feel anatomy within your own body, observe it in others, and develop the confidence to make thoughtful choices about alignment, cueing, modifications, and movement.
This is anatomy for yoga teachers who want to understand what is actually happening beneath the pose—without needing to become an anatomy expert.
For those who want to continue deeper, this training provides the foundation for our 30-Hour Advanced Anatomy of Yoga, where we move beyond the musculoskeletal system to explore the nervous system, energetic anatomy, whole-body patterns, injuries, and the interconnected nature of the human experience.
Join us and learn to see beyond the shape of the pose—so you can teach the body in front of you with greater knowledge, curiosity, confidence, and care.
