Welcome to Danyasa Eco Lodge, a remarkable place located in Dominical, Costa Rica.
The quaint beach town of Dominical lies on the northern border of the Osa Peninsula, considered the most biodiverse place on Earth by the National Geographic Society and the United Nations. Dominical and the surrounding areas boast world class surf, lush jungle covered mountains that soar from the sea, an abundance of exciting adventure and excursion opportunities, and spectacular natural attractions ranging from waterfalls to sea caves to mangroves to hidden beaches and more!

You can fly into San Jose International Airport (SJO). Once you arrive, it is a 3-5 hour journey to Dominical. You can also take a 20-minute airplane flight from San Jose (SJO) to Quepos(XQP) and then take a taxi or rent a car to drive the remaining 30 minutes south to Dominical.
Shared-ride shuttles provide the best ratio of cost to travel time. Sit back and watch the scenery and leave the driving to the pros. Shared-ride shuttles leave from the San Jose International Airport (SJO) and generally cost around $50 each way.
Public buses can take you from downtown San Jose right to our doorstep. The buses leave from the Tracopa bus terminal. You will have to buy a ticket to Uvita, but you can get off at Dominical. Make sure you get off in Dominical and don’t go all the way to Uvita. Bus times vary. You can check the Tracopa Bus website for the latest info. https://www.tracopacr.com/. The bus takes around 5 hours to get to Dominical. (Note: it’s a $25 taxi fare from SJO Airport to the Tracopa station).
Private shuttles from San Jose airport or the city cost $175 and take about 3 hours. No waiting and they can be arranged at any hour. Please contact email@example.com for help arranging a private shuttle.

Please let us know of any allergies or dietary restrictions. All meals are healthy and prepared by our lovely cook who knows how to make your taste buds smile. 3 Daily vegetarian, healthy meals (breakfast, lunch, and dinner).
At Danyasa, purified water is available. When traveling outside of your home country it is a good idea to take the extra steps to protect your immune system. If you have never traveled outside of your country, this may make you more susceptible to getting tummy sickness because your body will be exposed to unfamiliar bacteria! Even though our retreat centers have filtered water, we recommend bringing a water filter or water purification tablets. Here are the products we recommend:
The currency in Costa Rica is Colones. US Dollars are widely accepted but you will not get the best exchange rates. We also suggest not to use the money exchange in the airport as the rates are high. The current rate is approx. 613 Colones to $1 USD
The nearest ATM is in Dominical.

Upon arrival, we will get you settled into your room and give you a short orientation. Feel free to check in after 1 pm or to drop your bags off early and explore until your room is ready! The Manual is included in the price of tuition and we will have it for you at the start of the course.
Optionally, A neti pot and a tongue scraper are suggested to be used throughout the course, you can purchase these on your own at any health food store. Please also bring any creative tools that enable you to express your gifts such as musical instruments, painting/drawing materials, etc.
Each day you will have break times to go to the beach, eat, rest, do homework etc. (option to include surfing at an additional cost) Danyasa can help you set up surfing details.

Manuel Antonio National Park - Admission fee is $16, children under 12 are free of admission. Guided tours are available at $51 for adults and $35 for children. Private tours are available at $71 for adults and $55 for children.
All extra activities vary in price, most can be arranged through Danyasa on arrival or day before.
Laundry is available off site and can be dropped off and picked up at Danyasa.
The Internet is available onsite at Danyasa but we suggest to disconnect from the internet as much as possible, phones will only be allowed for photos during meal times etc.
You will need a valid passport for entry into Costa Rica. US, Canada and EU citizens do not need to get a visa ahead of time.

We will make arrangements to make up any missed days during the program. Typically, it is not a problem and you can get everything completed during the course.
At the end of the course, you will receive your 200hr Yoga Teacher Certification. This course is approved by Yoga Alliance. As a graduate of this program you will qualify to register as a teacher with the Yoga Alliance organization if you choose to.
