Welcome to Nalanda Retreat, located in the heart of a serene seaside town in Goa – southern India. Nalanda Retreat is in a coastal village in North Goa which overlooks Mandrem Beach. This stretch of sand is a continuation of Ashwem beach situated close to Arambol beach.

Mandrem is around 52 kms from Goa Airport at Dabolim, from where you can take a taxi, or Nalanda Retreat can pre-book a transfer for you. The nearest railway station is in Pernem, which is less than 27 km away. There are frequent buses from the capital city of Panaji and the city of Mapusa to Mandrem.

Let us know of any allergies or dietary restrictions. All meals are healthy and prepared by Nalanda who knows how to make your taste buds smile. 3 Daily vegetarian, meals (breakfast, lunch, and dinner).

The currency in India is Rupee’s. We recommend exchanging cash into Rupee’s before you arrive! If you plan on doing activities, bring extra cash!

Optionally, a neti pot and a tongue scraper are suggested to be used throughout the course, you can purchase these on your own at any health food store. Please also bring any creative tools that enable you to express your gifts such as musical instruments, painting/drawing materials, etc.

Laundry is available off-site.

Limited internet is available onsite but we suggest disconnecting from the internet as much as possible, phones will only be allowed for photos during meal times, etc.

We will make arrangements to make up any missed days during the program. Typically, it is not a problem and you can get everything completed during the course.

You will need a valid visa for entry into India. Please check with your country’s embassy for travel details and entry requirements.

Your passport must be valid for six months beyond date of visa application to obtain a visa.

At the end of the course, you will receive your 200hr Yoga Teacher Certification. This course is approved by Yoga Alliance. As a graduate of this program you will qualify to register as a teacher with the Yoga Alliance organization if you choose to.
