Morocco is the perfect place to deepen your yoga practice and become a worldwide recognized yoga teacher off the coast of North Africa.
Tamraght is a small village located on the hills of the Atlantic ocean. This area of North Africa offers phenomenal surfing, breathtaking views, and a relaxed environment. Tamraght and its neighboring town Taghazout are full of unique cafes, authentic cuisine, and thriving culture. This affordable and central location provides some of the best surf breaks in the area. Not to mention, the local community is very friendly and welcoming of tourists and nomads from around the world.
The School Yoga Institute Mystical 200-Hour Yoga Teacher Training was built with a strong intention for personal growth, empowerment, and expansion. We provide our students with tools to share the wisdom of yoga with others, but also to look at their own lives from a spiritual perspective.
Our 200-hour certification provides students with a strong foundation in yoga philosophy, the Shamanic Medicine Wheel, and Yoga Asana (cueing, alignment, anatomy, and hands-on adjustments). The training focuses on a combination of classical Hatha Yoga and modern Vinyasa Yoga.
To guide this journey of deep expansion and self-reflection, our Mystical 200-Hour Yoga Teacher Training draws on the ancient wisdom of the Shamanic Medicine Wheel. Each training is arranged in four cycles, following the four cardinal directions of the shamanic medicine wheel. Each of the directions is associated with an animal spirit — The Wind of the South, the Serpent, leads us to shed that which is no longer serving us. The Wind of the West, the Jaguar, shows us how to face our shadows with courage. The Wind of the North, the Hummingbird, guides us on an epic journey of sweetness and joy. The Wind of the East, the Eagle, teaches us to see the world and what is possible from a newfound perspective.
During the first two cycles of the training, students practice and learn to teach our Mystical Hatha Flow Yoga from the Classical Sivananda Yoga Tradition. Throughout the last two cycles of the training, students practice and learn to teach a Mystical Vinyasa Flow based on the Ashtanga Vinyasa tradition. Learning to practice and teach both of these styles of yoga gives students a strong foundation in yoga asana that can be applied to any teaching style and setting.

If you’re looking for an old-school surf lodge, then Maroc Surf Camp is the place for you! Maroc Surf Camp is one of the original surf houses in the Taghazout area which are all decorated in the local traditional “Beldi” style. The villa offers a wide variety of sleeping accommodations. Bathrooms are shared by a maximum of two rooms and some rooms have an en suite bathroom.
Their large ocean-view terrace is where all of the meals and good times are shared by everyone. This space is a prime location for diving into a good book, watching the dramatic African sunsets, or chilling after dinner and sharing life stories with people from other cultural backgrounds.
On the rooftop is a fully-equipped yoga shala where all of our classes will be held.
Although our main goal is for you to relax and disconnect from your daily routine, we have recently installed fast fiber optic WIFI throughout the villa so you have no problem watching or sharing those cool videos of you catching your first wave.
Maroc Surf Camp villa is located in the charming Berber village of Tamraght which is about 22 km away from the main city of Agadir. The closest airport is Agadir but you can also catch a flight to Marrakech and then get a ride to Agadir by taxi (around 120€ for 4 passengers) or by bus (14€ per traveler).
Many low-cost airlines such as Ryan Air, Transavia, TUI, and the national company Royal Air Maroc fly daily to Agadir from several European airports. All you need is a valid passport (with at least 6 months validity left).

As an organization, we are very selective about the sacred locations we choose to host our YTTs. We are grateful and humbled to hold these courses around the world on many different continents. We want the people who have grown up in these communities to have a chance to experience our programs at a discounted rate, so we offer 50% off for anyone who is from each location. For example, if you are from Central America, you have access to our programs in Guatemala and Costa Rica at a 50% tuition discount!
We truly can’t say enough about our incredible yoga facilitators. Like our course offerings, our facilitators are located all around the globe! Each one of our diverse world-class facilitators has completed a 300hr YTT and offers a plethora of experience and wisdom. We wouldn’t be who we are without them!
We offer continuing education courses both in-person and online! Our programs include Yin Yoga, Trauma-Informed Yoga, and Prenatal & Postnatal Yoga.
