We see immense value in gathering online — both in accessibility and in opportunity. In the group space, we will create a container that takes into consideration what each individual needs to feel safe and supported. We will also utilize interactive Zoom Rooms to create space for more intimate connection. All live sessions will be recorded, so if you need to miss a class for any reason we can send you the recorded content and assignments as needed.

What To Expect

This Online Trauma Informed Yoga Teacher Training will weave through 4 cycles: Stabilize, Metabolize, Visualize, and Alchemize. The intention for the flow of this program is to invite students into a deep reflective space of Self Confrontation and then to empower them to excavate their wounds into their wisdom and their pain into their purpose through Service.

We are committed to making this transformational journey accessible to all who feel called to join! We also recognize that yoga is inherently social justice. Wherever there is inequality, there is work to do. We are committed to amplifying and empowering the voices of people of color and folks who identify as members of marginalized communities. With this intention in our hearts, the School Yoga Institute team offers larger scholarship opportunities for BIPOC, LBGTQIA+ and members of marginalized communities.

*Please note that this a professional Yoga Teacher Training and not an intensive therapy program. It is expected that participants have their own support and therapeutic modalities in place while going through this training. While of course there will be space for personal reflection, it is imperative that the container remains strong and that we are not unloading or processing our traumatic experiences in this space. If you need guidance finding a therapist prior to starting this course, we are happy to help!

Jeanine Talento , BA, E-RYT 500, Trauma-Informed Yoga, YTT Facilitator

Jeanine Talento, E-RYT 500, is a Trauma-Informed Educator, Yoga Teacher Trainer, Emotional Freedom Facilitator & passionate writer. Jeanine believes in the power of healing through a reconnection to Self, authenticity, vulnerability, and an honoring of our unique human experiences.

An outspoken and unconventional facilitator of 1:1 mentorships, Yoga Teacher Trainings, Retreats & Women’s circles, Jeanine brings a light hearted approach to Trauma Informed work that normalizes and releases shame around the difficulties of being human.

Jeanine’s yoga journey began in 2006 in New York City as a way to seek relief from mental health struggles including anxiety, depression, and insomnia. Little did she know, the same perceived suffering that brought her to Yoga would be exactly what she alchemized into her power, purpose, and personalized offerings.

A long time student of Psychology, Jeanine is adamant about the intersectionality of Yoga and Trauma-Informed principles. With over 1000 hours of Trauma Informed Training, Jeanine weaves the powerful topics of Yoga for Mental Health, Addiction, and Trauma into YTT curriculum in a way that is accessible, inclusive, and allows for integration.

The foundation of Jeanine’s work is that liberation from trauma requires a collaboration of compassionate inquiry, somatic curiosity, releasing shame, and recognizing our limiting core beliefs all through creating a safe space where folks can explore their inner landscape with patience and permission.

Jeanine currently resides in Oceanside, CA and teaches weekly group classes at Black Sheep Yoga and Los Gatos Therapy Center. She is currently studying in a year long graduate level program with Gabor Mate and is committed to her development as a teacher, space holder, and human being.
