Orada is a family run, eco-sustainable, community based soul retreat center, nestled on 71 hectares of nature and privacy, created with the aim of expanding health and fostering purposeful transformational experiences.
Orada is an educational community promoting and facilitating spiritual, ecological, and transformative experiences. It is located in the heart of a nature sanctuary in the woods of Odemira, Alentejo, South West Portugal, bordering Algarve.
The center focuses on organic farming and conscious nutrition, meditation, and nature contemplation spaces. Orada is a space holding community and a force for innovative possibilities and new mindsets.
Orada was founded on the vision that nature, health, sustainability, and community are fundamental for transitioning out of the toxicity of modern times. It is a place to get inspired, reimagine life on earth, and manifest collective awakening.
To maintain the essence and peaceful nature of the property, WiFi is offered with limited access only in the restaurant area. Please plan accordingly.
The center offers different accommodation types from private suites and bungalows to tepees and cozy dorm rooms. The buildings and retreat facilities were reconstructed using traditional and organic materials, giving this beautiful property not only an authentic Portuguese feel, but also providing a healthy and comfortable environment in all weather.
Permaculture is a primary focus at Orada. You will be served delicious and nutritious vegetarian food, sourced almost entirely from the garden. Enjoy Portugal’s famous daily homemade breads, themed menu nights, and evening dining with music by the fire. Three mostly vegan/mostly gluten free meals per day are included in your room and board price. Fully gluten free meals prepared with care and originality can be served upon request for an additional fee.
Students are responsible to book and pay for their own flights. School Yoga Institute is available to offer travel advice and support. Orada is located 1.5 hours from Faro Airport and 2.5 hours from Lisbon.
U.S. citizens may enter Portugal for up to 90 days for tourist or business purposes without a visa. Your passport should be valid for at least six months after travel. For other nationalities please check with your consulates as a Visa may be required. Make two copies of your passport (and visa if required), bring one with you and leave one at home with a close contact.

From Lisbon we will travel together as a group to the center. It is appx 2.5 hours.
