Yin yoga is a beautiful practice that takes us on a journey into our inner world. Through the practice of yin, we start to understand the world through stillness and softening. Yin helps us to turn inwards, tune-in and listen. When we can understand ourselves, we can start to understand the world around us. Yin practice on the mat teaches us how to practice stillness off the mat. We start to understand that there is a pause between action and reaction.

Yin teaches us Resilience – How to bounce back from challenges and how to breathe through life.

 

Different maps in life

This 50h basic Yin Yoga Teacher Training gives you tools to start offering the gift of Yin Yoga. In this course, you will gain a deeper understanding of what Yin Yoga is and why one should practice it, benefits on mind body and soul.

After this training, you will have the knowledge of how different ancient wisdom of shamanism from Peru, Ayurveda from India and traditional Chinese Medicine can help us in understanding the practice of Yin in mental and physical level. You will understand how different ancient wisdom and maps can be introduced into your own practice and into your teachings. How to create an intention and weave that into your class.

If you have your 200h TTC this will be the perfect course to deepen your knowledge and can be considered as part of your continuing education hours with Yoga Alliance. If you do not have your 200h you will be able to take this course and you will be empowered to take your personal practice deeper. And even if teaching is not in your radar, you will benefit from this course by gaining a basic understanding of Anatomy of human body and how we can cultivate the different approaches and ancient wisdom of shamanism, Taoism and Ayurveda in our daily life and in our (Yin) yoga practice on and off the mat.

 

Daily Practice

In this training, you will enjoy different types of Yin yoga practices daily. You will receive two yoga classes daily Morning asana practice of 90min with 30min meditation and 75 in the evening chill class. During the training, some of the morning practice will be yang style practice, as we know that we need to understand yang to understand yin. The evening classes will be chill yin classes.

At the end of the 6 days (50h) training, you will teach a 60-minute Yin yoga class for your peer. You will walk away with three different Yin Yoga sequences that you can share with your students, one for each of the maps that we are talking about: Shamanism, Tao (TCM) and Hindu/ Chakras.

 

The Course Outline

The course schedule is intense and will cover many things. There are morning break and lunch break but the days are packed, to offer you as much as possible in the time that we have together.

The 6-day 5-night course follows the Peruvian Medicine wheel, which is based on the 4 archetypes of the human being: the Serpent, The Jaguar, The Hummingbird, and The Eagle. These 4 archetypes cycle our training to move from our body, to navigate our mind, through our soul to the essence of our spirit. During these 6 days and 4 cycles, you will dive deep into your transformational journey through Yin Yoga.

The days we will start with meditation and asana practice. Followed by breakfast break. The morning classes before lunch we will spend learning about yin yoga, the different approaches “maps” (meridians, Chakras, and shamanism) and the anatomy related to Yin Yoga practice. After lunch we will dive deep into philosophy, learn about dharma and what makes a “good dharma talk” and in our Asana clinic we will look into the poses and learn about the poses, how to teach them, instruct and adjust and use props.

About your lead teacher, Inka

Tell you the truth, I am Yangster. I am Fire, Yang, and energy powerhouse.

Before I thought Yin was super boring, the yoga for lazy people…. and years later, here I am passionate about Yin, so much that I wish the share the magic this practice has.

It is though Yin Yoga that I learned that its ok to relax. As a Yangster, I did not see the point of relaxing before. Now I know that it is actually necessary for body to find that cool energy to calm down the nervous system and to restore Qi the prana in your body. In addition of gaining the understanding of the importance of restoring Qi and Prana, through well-guided yin practice I was able to tap into locks and parts within me that I had kept sealed.

With Yin, I was able to tap into parts in my past that I had been too afraid to look at. I realized this is the medicine that I need to share and I started guiding regular Yin classes Finland in my local studio. I tend to channel dharma and stories in my yin classes and turned out that my students loved their journeys with me. I wanted to learn more, and I started seeking more Yin knowledge through retreats and self-study. I did my Yin Yoga & Chinese Meridian teacher training in 2018.
