Join School Yoga Institute for this unique & comprehensive Trauma-Informed program! Trauma-informed yoga is a rapidly growing field based on neuroscience research. This work is quickly becoming the gold standard in how to create welcoming and inclusive environments for folks enduring a myriad of different symptoms. This work translates and has been proven to be effective across many fields and bureaucratic systems, including Yoga, education, judicial, mental health, addiction recovery, prisons, and many more!
This program is specifically designed for Yoga Teachers (RYT-200 required), mental health professionals, or professionals working in any of the aforementioned fields who wish to broaden their scope of knowledge in the field of Trauma Recovery and integrate nervous system-focused embodiment practices into their work. This training is for professionals seeking to deepen their understanding of how trauma affects the brain and the nervous system, as well as how to increase awareness and sensitivity when working with trauma survivors.
Trainees will learn how trauma lives in the body and the incredible healing potential available through embodiment practices. We will demonstrate how to teach a trauma-informed titration style practice. We will also share practical tools of how to bring somatic awareness into your current approach to talk therapy or other clinical therapeutic modalities. *Please note that some yoga experience is recommended even if you are not a Yoga Teacher.
This program qualifies for Continuing Education Units (CEUs) with Yoga Alliance for RYTs.
