Join us for our Yoga Alliance–Certified 50-Hour Trauma-Informed YTT in the Alentejo region of Portugal.
Join Us in Southern Portugal at Cocoon Retreat Center.
Cocoon Portugal is a 275 acre coastal farm + retreat, offering inspiration + community for the modern traveller. It’s also pure magic, where between the oversized hammocks and the coastal bluffs, you’ll start to lose track of time. The kind of place where each morning is a celebration, practicing under the canopy of old growth pines, but so is each evening, with farm to table dinner at a long outdoor dining table.
Situated on the breathtaking Atlantic coast of Portugal, near the charming fishing village of Zambujeira do Mar, in the Alentejo region, our area is known for its long stretches of untouched coastline. From Lisbon, it is about two hours drive south, and it is about 90 minutes from Faro Airport. The ocean, with bluffs, trails, and sandy coves, is a 15 minute drive away.
Program Overview
This 50-Hour Trauma-Informed Yoga Teacher Training is a continuing education program designed for yoga teachers, therapists, and practitioners ready to deepen their understanding of trauma, the nervous system, and embodied facilitation.
This program invites you to explore how trauma lives in the body, how safety and connection are cultivated through somatic awareness, and how to hold space in a way that honors autonomy and choice. You’ll learn to approach your students and clients (and yourself) with curiosity, compassion, and nervous system literacy.
To be trauma-informed is to create a space that honors the complexity of the human experience – where every participant is invited to listen to their own body, choose what feels right, and move at their own pace. In this training, we explore what it means to lead with attunement – to teach and guide not from authority, but from relationship. Through the body, we remember that woleness happens in connection – to self, to others, to the ground beneath us.
