TRAUMA-INFORMED YOGA CONTINUING EDUCATION COURSES (YACEP)

Oftentimes as womxn, we neglect ourselves of joy. When we go through traumatic experiences, we don’t only dissociate from pain, we can also end up feeling undeserving or disembodied when it comes to fully experiencing the pleasure and aliveness that is our birthright. In this trauma-informed women’s retreat, we will tap into the ways in which we devoid ourselves from the delights of life while finding ways to access it again through community, vulnerability, and radical self-love.

 

Trauma-informed work is an investigation into who we are, what has shaped us, and how we rediscover joy and embodiment in our lives. We come to realize that we can foster an even greater sense of intimacy and vitality not in spite of trauma, but actually because of it.

 

While this 5-night course will predominantly be a retreat format, there will also be didactic material included to qualify for Continuing Education Units.

 

* This program is limited to a capacity of 16 participants in hopes of creating an intimate container. This program is open to anyone who identifies as or with women and is committed to sharing and communing through dignity, support, and courage.

This program qualifies for Continuing Education Units (CEUs) with Yoga Alliance for RYTs.

  • Shadow work + journaling

  • 7:00a-9:00a - Somatic Study, Meditation
  • 9:00a-10:30a - Breakfast Break
  • 10:30a-12:30p - Lecture/Special Topic/Circle
  • 12:30p-3:00p - Lunch/Self Care Break
  • 3:00p-6:00p - Activity
  • 6:00p-7:00p - Dinner
  • 7:00p-9:00p - Ceremony

Required Book

If you are interested in reading material relevant to this course, we highly recommend Women Who Run With the Wolves by Clarissa Pinkola Estes. We may use this book as a reference throughout the course.

Here's a note from the retreat center regarding their dietary requests policy - We cater for vegans, non-dairy, non-glute and nut free. Dishes are cooked in a kitchen where these ingredients are used and as such we cannot guarantee no cross contamination occurs. We are unable to cater for specific or limited diet plans. For other allergies and intolerances, pleas inform us prior to booking and we will check with the kitchen if we can cater for you. We offer a buffet style and are not always able to cater for restrictive diets (e.g. no garlic or no onion).
