April takes the spiritual name Jyothi, meaning divine light. Her mission is to bring unconditional love into all aspects of her life. Her passion arises from her own unique and infinite connection to source which guides her to support begins from all walks of life in illuminating darkness and to rediscover the divine joy, purpose and lightness of being.
She is dedicated to guiding those who feel a deeper calling for purpose and connection from within on their journey. Is driven by her own quest for knowledge and understanding of human experience. April is called to guide others creating spaces and experiences in which they feel supported as they embark on a path to uncover insights into their own unique purpose.
April studied Religion, Philosophy and Ethics at University which sparked a deep inner desire for spiritual understanding. Before embarking on her teaching path, spent time in a Buddhist Monastery studying mindfulness and Buddhist Philosophy, it was at this time she was introduced to Hindu Philosophy which brought her to practice Yoga.
Yoga has facilitated an alignment with her true nature, it has helped her to overcome personal struggles and allows her to live with purpose in the world. She embarked on her initial teacher training in 2019 and continues to facilitate teacher trainings, retreats and workshops. Has trained with School Yoga Institute and our sister school Indra Yoga Institute to complete her 500hr yoga teacher training certification.
April continues to deepen her knowledge through practice and the observance of culture, and has continued her education in the methods of Yin Yoga, Mindfulness Meditation and Energetic Anatomy. She believes that yoga should be trauma informed and inclusive, her path has also led her to become a reiki level 2 practitioner, and a trauma informed doula.
April focuses on creating an intentional experience through her teachings where students are guided to listen to their own intuition and inner voices. April has a deep relationship with energetic healing practices and weaves themes of this mindfully into her practices, classes and workshops.
It is April’s dream to combine her passion as a space holder, trauma sensitive teacher and Doula to support and serve birthing people through the transitional phases of birth and motherhood.
