Ashley began her asana practice around age 19, but was born and raised in the Nichiren Buddhist tradition where her upbringing centered around practicing for the betterment of herself, those around her, and the world as a whole.
Chanting mantra before she could form actual sentences, ignited wonder, and allowed her to witness the power of human prayer and intention from a very young age. She began attending yoga classes upon experiencing a "dark night of the soul"; in her early twenties. She discovered that yoga had a way of alchemizing her thoughts and connecting her spirit to her body she had not previously experienced before.
Ashley obtained her 200hr teacher certification from School Yoga Institute at the Mystical Yoga Farm in Guatemala in 2017 and then her 300hr certification from SYI in Costa Rica June/July 2022. Her passion for the outdoors led to many years working and teaching youth in the field of Outdoor Education and then later in Wilderness Therapy.
In 2020, Ashley attended a transformational neuromuscular massage school and is now a licensed massage therapist in Crested Butte, Colorado. Practicing massage and teaching yoga in her community has allowed her to facilitate deep transformation in herself as well as others.
Her strong foundation in Eastern philosophy and consistent practice helps her teach from deep understanding. Her everyday life experience is the foundation for her teaching and how she relates to her students. She believes
her life's work is to help others remember their infinite greatness and to learn how to love more.
When she is not working as a teacher or massage therapist, you can find Ashley climbing on the side of a cliff with her husband, riding her mountain bike, backpacking through the wilderness, playing with her dog, skiing, singing to her uke, dancing with her hoop, and letting life flow through her.
