Flavia was born and raised in Zurich, Switzerland where she lives at the moment. Her love for other cultures, traveling, languages and movement brought her all around the world. In 2016, Flavia embarked on a two-year journey through South America, where she completed both the 200H and 300H YYT with SYI in Peru.
On this magical continent, she was able to deepen her spiritual practice and teaching experiences following her calling to guide other people on the yoga and shamanic path. Flavia teaches regular weekly classes in her hometown (Yin, Yoga Nidra, Vinyasa, Meditation), guides cacao ceremonies in Zurich and around Switzerland, hosts singing circles, as well as different trainings around Yoga, Shamanism and Shamanic Reiki.
Since her 500H with SYI, Flavia has completed a 200H Yin Yoga Teacher Training with the German teacher Helga Baumgartner, has studied with the Yoga Nidra teacher Michele Loew and is now currently doing another 300H Teacher Training that combines classical Hatha Yoga with Vajrayana Buddhisms with Michele Loew, Robert Thurman, Richard Freeman and Mary Tailor.
Her shamanic studies with the Foundation of Shamanic Studies, as well as the teachings she received in traditional and shamanic Reiki, are important cornerstones for Flavia’s understanding of Spirit and community work. She also incorporates what she has learned in her years of studying literature and the arts, weaving the wisdom of poets and artists of all sorts into her meditations and healing practice.
As her practice and teaching began to become more and more important in her life, Flavia changed her career from being a literary scholar to becoming a full-time Yoga teacher, as well as ceremonial space holder and Shamanic Reiki Master. She has the ability to download the teachings into a language that is comprehensible for students of all traditions and paths. She is interested in the interplay of cultures, practices and how they transform and expand.
One of her great passions is the plant world and how it connects to the heart space. She hosts regular heart opening events in combination with cacao and Bhakti Yoga indoors as well as in nature. Right now, she is in the process of opening a ceremonial space in Zurich, a place where healers and practitioners from all holistic traditions can gather and share from their hearts.
At the moment my favorite pose is Saddle Pose. This is a Yin posture held for a couple of minutes that works wonders for me when my back feels sore or my heart feels closed - it always brings back a smile on my face and a soothing to my heart space.
“Like you, they laugh and cry and play, ceaseless rhythm through each day. Feel the heart so like your own: hoping, healing, breathing, feeling. Let there be no sound of striking, only that of love and liking." Anodea Judith - Wheels of Life.
There are innumerable things that inspire me in my personal practice, from the first ray of light, to the way I meet other people, to the rustling sound of the wind in the leaves of the trees, to the dance of consciousness within me. I don’t believe there is truly anything that could not help me on my path towards bringing forth the best version of myself. For me, the practice on the mat is here to bring me back to a natural place where I can breathe deeply and work on what is going on inside and outside of me at this moment. From this place I can stand up and meet my day to day challenges with an open heart, mind and spirit and try to flow with the waves of life with more ease and grace to bring true change into the world.
“Together with my students I want to create a world where respect, love and responsability is a main goal. Ayni - the cornerstone for the andean ancesatral communities - can be translated as "sacred relationship" or "sacred union", a concept that recognises that everything is connected and everything that is give will be given back in due time. This is why it is important to me that my students feel themselves as a precious member during my clasess and workshops and that we cherish the shared leessons as sacred moments. A place where everybody is welcome and one can pause for a while to find true connection."
