MEET NIKO
Yoga Teacher, Jnana Yogi, and Philosophy Educator bridging ancient wisdom with modern life.

Born and raised in Lima – Perú, Niko lived part of his life according to a model which he didn’t know could be transformed. From age 17 until 25 he was part of the peruvian national rowing team. This meant he was training between 2 and 4 hours per day, 6 days a week for more than 8 years non-stop. During this stage he had many realizations related to self-confidence, determinism, mental blocks, happiness and purpose.
In his professional life, he studied business administration in Lima, not really sure about what to do with his life later on. After university he worked for many international companies in Lima, where he was able to learn a lot about people’s motivation in life.
In a turning point in his life, it was 2013 when he decided to quit his job and to end his rowing career to search for something different. That’s when he ran into his first experience in yoga. Immediately he started practicing asanas and meditation very rigorously. A few months after this, he took his first teacher training. His life was about to take a big turn.
He started teaching while still learning more and more about yoga philosophy, asanas and meditation, and how this practice could help people to live happier and more purpose driven lives.
In 2020, after some years teaching yoga in Lima, in order to expand his teachings and to keep studying, he moved to Bali with his wife, Denise.
Today, Niko has taught in many teacher trainings, both in Bali and in Lima. His focus is to bring the ancient teachings of yoga philosophy and meditation and translate them into powerful viewpoint-changing-lessons that help his students to change their life.
What’s your favorite yoga pose and why?
Crow. Because it requires you to first be sure that you can do it before you can do it. When you’re not sure, you won’t be able to get there. It’s a clear reminder of how our viewpoint determines our lives.
What is your favorite quote?
“If there’s anything in life which is complicated it involves some kind of lie. Truth is simple. Lies are complicated.” by Meir Ezra.
What inspires you in your practice?
Being able to help more people in a better way.
