All of our rooms include A/C, ceiling fans, private bathrooms with hot water & “open-sky” showers, hammocks and a room safe box. With astounding natural beauty, warm water temperatures, and incredible wildlife, this yoga teacher training in Costa Rica is a unique opportunity for those called to both the ancient sacred practices of yoga and the art of surfing.
The Mal Pais and Santa Teresa surfing zone is known for its year-round consistent waves. In addition to the yoga training, you will have daily opportunities to learn and deepen your surfing practice. The average swell running in the 3-5 foot range breaking over beautiful sand beaches. Indigo Yoga Resort is a short five-minute walk from some of the most spectacular tide pools in Costa Rica. Each morning we will have shuttles down to the waves. Playa Carmen being just 2 kilometers up the road will be our most common surf spot. As well, depending on participant needs and abilities we will have opportunities to go up to the breaks at Banana Beach, Santa Teresa and Playa Hermosa. As well we will all experience the wonder of Stand Up Paddleboarding (‘SUPing’) right in Mal Pais. Non-surfing nature lovers or beginner to expert surfers can all equally benefit from this seamless blending of two flow-based spiritual practices.
“We loved everything about Indigo. The bungalow apartments are super clean, modern & carry a zen vibe. The private outdoor showers & bathrooms are so fun! The hotel is located right across from stunning playa mal pais. We walked down to the playa at night with drinks to watch the breathtaking sunsets! The grounds are well maintained tropical gardens home to varieties of birds & even monkeys in the trees! The pool lounge & yoga practice area are truly luxurious. The restaurant served fresh healthy daily options. We were on a 2-week road trip around the Nicoya Peninsula (very ambitious & risky BTW) & Indigo was by far our most favorite stay!” – Trip Advisor, 2016
